Aranui Jacob Sheep
Welcome to our flock of pedigree Jacob sheep, nestled in the West Allen Valley, Northumberland, high up in the North Pennines. We aim to breed and produce, not only beautiful, healthy and good natured sheep but also happy ones. They are part of the family. Who
we are
We started our fabulous flock of Pedigree Jacobs with six ewes and a ram, steadily growing to where we have approximately twenty five breeding ewes and 80 sheep in total. Aranui is a Māori word, which means great path, we chose it as a flock name as a nod to New Zealand where Pete grew up on a hill country station, and it is certainly an adventurous path we are following.
Our home is in the West Allen Valley, a remote and stunning location in North East England, where the weather changes daily and the calls of lapwings and curlew echo in the Spring. Our lambs are born in April at approx 1,000ft above sea level, and we are immensely proud of the sheep that we produce.
We breed and sell pedigree Jacob ewes, replacement hoggets and rams, plus mixed breed stores. We also have available superb quality meat boxes which are available privately and to local suppliers.
